PlayWorkArt has a visually impressive comic style and it was a match for my action hero OC, Generic Female Secret Agent. He has a large gallery of well drawn female characters and I was pleased to add to it with one of my own characters. He’s drawn OCs of many other commissioners and I would recommend him to others for that task. If you’re lucky, you can catch him while he’s offering a special commission of a mural featuring multiple heroes duking it out.

If you're interested in seeing work I've commissioned from PlayWorkArt and other artists, click on my gallery and take a look around.

Title: Nanite Infection

Background:
The references for the visual appearance for Generic Female Secret Agent are from D.C. Comics Batgirl (ver. 3.0).

Story:
The definition of wild nanotech is nanotechnology programmed for chaotic purposes and lacking any method to control it once unleashed. Wild nanotech is the genie in a bottle that no scientist in their right mind is willing to develop. Unfortunately for the Agency, they have many antagonists who are indeed, mad scientists and utilize nanotech in dangerous ways. The most pressing issue with wild nanotech is that no one knows what the microscopic machines are programmed to do and rather, the Agency doesn’t want to find out. It set a precedent with its nuke first, ask questions later policy, making an example of the first mad scientist to embark on threatening the world with his rogue nanotech. Not that it stopped all the mad scientists in the nanotechnology field from continuing their research in secret. Research was fine, however, any use outside of the laboratory was off limits.

While some in the super villain community bristled at the limitations set upon them, those smart enough to realize the imminent danger of wild nanotech breathed a sigh of relief. In the hands of unstable persons, wild nanotech could doom the planet and that wasn’t satisfactory for the upcoming, would-be rulers of the world. There’d be no point to their machinations if the world they conquered was in complete ruins. In uncharacteristic form, these villains cooperate with the Agency by revealing the locations of scientists who tread into nanotech research that threatens the safety of the world.

After obtaining this information, the Agency randomly assigns an agent for a wet work operation to put an end to this research. After her first mission like this, and seeing the living test subjects, Generic Female Secret Agent stopped asking questions or feeling guilty for what she did. Termination was swift justice for the unspeakable acts that would be fulfilled if the research was left alone.

After terminating the rogue scientist, she rigged the laboratory with explosives and exited via the primary entrance. Unbeknownst to her, her target had a failsafe device activated in case his heartbeat stopped. He figured whoever killed him would still be breathing and the motion detector by the entrance triggered the failsafe. A specially programmed cloud of nanites dusted the air and Generic Female Secret Agent received a powerful dose of them. Shooting through her blood stream and latching onto her nervous system, the wild nanotech began work on the final program created by its deceased creator. It would carry out vengeance using the vessel of its master’s assassin.

Ah...here it is. I didn't know the title or who had done it until I stumbled on it in a collection search the other day.

Anyway, your pic/story actually inspired me to try something similar with Poser and GIMP. Not my best work, but here's my "cheap knockoff"attempt below:

Granted, this was years ago and I think I might have gotten a little better since then. But still, it was your piece that inspired me to attempt it.
