Commission by [MDV]

Another awesome commission by MDV. He was great to collaborate with on this commission. I sent him the original idea and he improved on it. There was great communication and he listened to all my feedback regarding the four rough drafts. I strongly recommend him for commissions and I'm going to get another commission from him.

Title: Transmission from Samus Aran

Background:
The inspiration for this commission comes from the Marvel Comics series, Annihilation: Conquest. The villainous Phalanx assimilate heroes and villains alike to forge an unstoppable army, bent on conquering the universe. Enslaved heroes and villains are called the 'Select' and function as command officers for the Phalanx. From the Annihilation: Conquest series, I found the artwork of Select Gamora to be so appealing that I wrote up an idea for different female heroines to undergo the same transformation. This is the first of many commissions to mention the Phalanx Invasion.

Story:
The Galactic Federation dispatched bounty hunter Samus Aran to investigate a mysterious outbreak in Sector 4901. After landing at the primary Federation outpost, the Phalanx covertly infected her with their transmode virus. Samus attempted to resist the infection, but it overwhelmed her and the Phalanx converted her into a 'Select'. Under new orders, the Phalanx dispatched Select Samus Aran to deliver the transmode virus to Galactic Federation Headquarters. Once rooted into the governing body of intergalatic space, the Phalanx will subtly spread to hundreds of unsuspecting worlds and assimilate them.

Samus' helmet is riddled with the Phalanx's techo-organic transmode virus. This is the primary indication of infection and the visor has techno-organic mesh growing in it. The view screens in the back of the cockpit harbor a grim message from Samus. They display a report she is preparing for the Galactic Federation council. At first glance, everything appears normal. Until one looks at Samus herself.

The Phalanx added a layer of techno-organic mesh to her eyes and installed an electronic interface into her hands. With a single touch, she can infect or interact with electronic computer systems. Her first action as a Select was infecting and assimilating her ship's A.I. The rear view screens harbor signs of the transmode infection and her A.I. has become another unwilling convert to the Phalanx.
