Sleeper Agent IV

2013 was a craptastic year for commissions, but the lone bright spot has been Umbrafox.  I’ve commissioned several private series with him and he’s delivered outstanding work.  Excellent work should be rewarded and I asked him to complete this Phalanx series that was part of a poll in my gallery.  Umbrafox is a fantastic artist who deserves your attention.

Title: Sleeper Agent IV

Background:
The Phalanx are characters from the Marvel Comics universe.   They descend from the Technarchy, an alien species of techo-organic nature.  Most well known for their clashes with the X-Men, their ultimate motives and goal are encoded directly into the fabric of their being.  They must infect all organic creatures and convert them into Phalanx.  All must become one with the Phalanx.  This is part of a series with Title: Sleeper Agent I, dwwrider.deviantart.com/art/Sl… , Title: Sleeper Agent II, dwwrider.deviantart.com/art/Sl… , and Title: Sleeper Agent III, dwwrider.deviantart.com/art/Sl… .

Story:
Information is power.  Likewise, misinformation is equally powerful.  The sleeper agent wakes from the innocent facade she projects when her programming recognizes situations that would aid her primary mission.  Her career as an intelligence analyst provides her access to national security databases and their computer servers.  While she normally accesses her information from her secure desktop, there are other esoteric methods she can utilize to get access.

An opportunity arose that could not be ignored.  A nanite laced kiss to the security technician guaranteed her swift and uninterrupted access to the base’s server farm.  Having already hacked and manipulated the security cameras to ignore her at her command, she entered the server farm unnoticed by person or machine.  Only the hum of the numerous servers echoing off her body indicated her presence.  Dropping the guise of her humanity, she let her tendrils emerge and reach out to the immobile server racks.  The machinery shuddered and whined at the alien intrusion into their physical ports.  The flow of data went both ways.  Malicious, hostile code exited the sleeper agent’s tendrils, while a rush of digital information flowed back into her.  The network’s resistance after the deluge of computer code from the sleeper agent overcame their uncooperative firewalls.  Its secrets and more would be revealed to the Phalanx.
